The Gulbaru Gecko was discovered in 2001 near Townsville, Australia. It’s a spectacular reptile with granite-like skin that reaches a length of 18 cm. The gecko hides in rock crack during the day and hunts at night. It has no pads on its skinny fingers, instead it has sharp claws for climbing rocks. The Gulbaru Gecko is listed as endangered and is considered one of Australia’s most narrowly-distributed species.
